मा. डॉ. अजितराव उद्धव सुर्यवंशी हे सांगली जिल्हयातील अपंग व शैक्षणिक क्षेत्रातील विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी काम करणारे असे सर्वांच्या परिचयाचे असे नाव झाले आहे, सुर्यवंशी साहेब हे सध्या महाराष्ट्रातील 18 शाळांचे संस्थापक अध्यक्ष म्हणून काम पाहत आहेत. यातील 8 शाळा हया अपंग (मतिमंद, कर्णबधीर, अंध) क्षेत्रातील आहेत, 3 माध्यमिक विद्यालये आहेत, 2 आश्रमशाळा आहेत, 2 मागासवर्गीय वसतीगृह आहेत, 1 बालगृह आहे, तर २ प्राथमिक शाळा आहेत. अशा सर्व संस्थांचा डोलारा सुर्यवंशी साहेब सांभाळत आहेत. तसेच दरवर्षी या शाळांचे काम व संख्या वाढताना दिसत आहे. सुर्यवंशी साहेब हे व्यक्तिमत्व अथक परिश्रम व त्यागाचे दुसरे नाव आहे. एवढा व्याप ते सांभाळत असूनही अनेक सामाजिक क्षेत्रातील कामामध्ये नेहमी पुढे असतात. याच कामाची दखल घेवून मा. डॉ. अजितराव उध्दव सुर्यवंशी यांना त्यांच्या शैक्षणिक क्षेत्रातील उल्लेखणिय सामाजिक कार्याबद्दल द इंटरनॅशनल तामिल युनिव्हर्सिटी, यू एस ए व किंग्ज युनिव्हर्सिटी, यू एस ए, होनोलूलू, हवाली तर्फे 14 जुलै 2016 रोजी दिल्ली येथे डॉक्टर ऑफ लेटर पदवी प्रदान करण्यात आली. मा. डॉ. अजितराव सूर्यवंशी यांनी सर्वांसमोर आदर्श शाळांचे उदाहरण समोर ठेवले आहे. यांच्या ब-याच शाळांमध्ये सी. सी. टी. व्ही. कॅमेरे बसविण्यात आले आहेत, सर्व शाळांमध्ये अध्यावत व आधुनिक शैक्षणिक साहित्य व इमारत उपलब्ध करून दिले आहे. ‘ध्येय गाठण्यासाठी माणसाने कोणत्याही स्तराला जावून काम केले पाहीजे.’ असे ध्येयवादी शब्द सुर्यवंशी साहेबांच्या मुखामध्ये असतात.

Ma. Dr. Ajitrao Uddhav Suryavanshi has become a household name in Sangli district for those working for students with disabilities and education. Suryavanshi Saheb is currently the founding president of 18 schools in Maharashtra. Of these, 8 schools are for the disabled (mentally retarded, deaf, blind), 3 are secondary schools, 2 are ashram schools, 2 are backward class hostels, 1 is a kindergarten and 2 are primary schools. Suryavanshi Saheb is managing all such organizations. Also, the work and number of these schools is increasing every year. Suryavanshi Saheb is another name for personality, hard work and sacrifice. Despite such a wide range of management, many are always at the forefront of social work. Taking note of this work, Hon. Dr. Ajitrao Uddhav Suryavanshi was conferred the degree of Doctor of Letters on 14 July 2016 in Delhi by The International Tamil University, USA and King's University, USA, Honolulu, Hawali for his outstanding social work in the field of education. Ma. Dr. Ajitrao Suryavanshi has set an example of ideal schools in front of everyone. In many of his schools c. C. T. V. Cameras have been installed, up-to-date and modern educational materials and buildings have been made available in all the schools. ‘To achieve a goal, a person has to go to any level and work.’ Such heroic words are in the mouth of Suryavanshi Saheb.
